Advertising terms

These advertising terms apply to every booking of a sidebar placement, audio spot series or Promenade Partnership with Ondulane, alongside our general terms of use.

1. Booking a placement

A booking is confirmed once we've agreed the placement, the schedule and the price from our published rate card, and payment has been arranged. Requests are handled in the order received, and a slot is only held once confirmed in writing.

Prices are as published on our services page at the time of booking: $225 CAD for the sidebar placement, $655 CAD for the audio spot series, and $1,220 CAD for the Promenade Partnership.

2. Creative deadlines

For the sidebar placement, finished artwork or the material needed to build it is due at least 3 business days before the placement is scheduled to start. For the audio spot series, a script is due at least 5 business days before the first scheduled recording. For the Promenade Partnership, article input and mention talking points are due at least 10 business days before the partnership period begins.

Material received after these deadlines may push the start date to the next available slot; it does not change the agreed price or run length.

3. Approval

We send a proof of the sidebar artwork, a draft recording of each audio spot, or a draft of the partnership article for your review before anything goes live. You have 2 business days to request reasonable changes; if we don't hear back within that window, the material is treated as approved and scheduled to run.

One round of revisions is included at no extra cost for each element; further rounds may extend the delivery date.

4. Make-goods

If a technical error on our side causes a sidebar placement to be missing for part of its run, an audio spot to air incorrectly, or a partnership element to be delivered late, we will make it good — typically by extending the run, re-airing the spot in the next available episode, or rescheduling the affected element — at no additional charge.

Make-goods do not apply where the delay or error results from late or incomplete creative material supplied by the advertiser.

5. Editorial independence from advertising

Booking a placement never grants influence over our news reporting. Our editorial team makes independent decisions about what we cover, and advertisers have no input into unrelated articles or episodes.

The one exception is the Promenade Partnership's partner-labelled article, which is written with the advertiser's input by design — but even then it is always marked "Partner content" in the byline and in our article listings, so readers can tell it apart from independent reporting at a glance.

6. Content standards

We reserve the right to decline or request changes to any submitted artwork, script or article content that is unlawful, misleading, discriminatory, or otherwise inconsistent with the tone of a local news publication.

7. Payment & refunds

Returns windows and refund eligibility for advertising bookings are set out in full on our Payment & refund policy and summarized in our terms of use.
